YM Hawks Fight Hard For Win

Everything was looking good for an afternoon of great rugby at YM; the weather was bright and dry and a decent sized crowd was present.

The game was a well balanced contest with neither side being able to exert any real dominance over the other. Maldon scored first with a converted try midway through the first half but YM were able to reply shortly after but were unable to convert.

Half time 5:7

Maldon had a slight upper hand in the forwards in the first half but this dwindled as the game progressed and midway through the second half YM took the lead with the scores at 17:14.
Now playing with their tails up, YM were now looking to consolidate their lead and started to play some champagne rugby which was appreciated by the crowd.

One notable move was Barrie Alford's kick chase which broke Maldon's defensive line and was gathered at pace. This would have been expected from a back but not a second row forward.

Despite YM's perseverance, the score remained at 17:14 for the rest of the match. Maldon put up an good fight however and were worthy of their loosing bonus point.
