Thurston Restore Pride at YM's Expense

On paper, thing looked promising for the YM Hawks; in the previous fixture at Thurston they had produced a good win depite playing the game with only 14 men.

However, this must have hurt Thurston badly and for this game they fielded a side featuring 4 or 5 different players to those that appeared last time.

Intitally this didn't appear to make a huge difference. In a similar manner to the game at Thurton, Thurston opened the scoring in the first five minutes with an unconverted try.
YM responded straight away though and a try was run in by Jonny Godzicz to level the scores at 5:5.

The play was quite evenly balanced during the remainder of the first half although it could be seen that Thurston had greater power in the forwards and slicker moves compared to the last game.

Towards the end of the first half Thurston scored again to take the score to 5:10 at half time.

During the opening minutes of the second half Thurston struck again, this time with a converted try to take the score to 5:17.
Fabio Whanon struct back immediatly with some good running to score which was converted by Iggy Girling 12:17.

Although YM were playing with guts and determination, Thurston were beginning to exert pressure and this produced a further three tries to finish the game with YM loosing 12:34.

The scoreline isn't a totally fair representation of the game and YM should be proud of the performance they put up against a strong Thurston side.
