If bonus points could be awarded for commitment and character, then YM should have been awarded at least two on an afternoon that saw them not only losing the game but unfortunately losing a number of key players as well.
Initially the game was quite evenly balanced and the recent defensive training sessions were showing their value in holding out the Crusaders attack. However, as the game progressed, the injury tally took its toll and YM gradually slipped further behind.
Despite using all their replacements and ending the game with 13 players on the pitch, YM managed to contain the score which in the past would have been at least double the final result.
Although being 'Niled' at home is never pleasant, the YM players should take heart in that there were encouraging elements to their play which show that they have the ability to beat the top clubs in this league.
